TumbleDraw

Lotto ball picker

Put your names or numbers in the machine and press Draw. Air jets tumble the balls and the winner rises out of the top, just like a lottery draw on TV.

Tip: repeat a name on several lines to give it extra chances.

How many entries: the wheel stays easy to read up to about 50 names and shows names up to 200. The lotto machine holds up to 60 balls at once. Bigger lists work in both, and every entry keeps an equal chance.

How to draw a winner

  1. Type or paste your entries in the Entries box, one per line. Each line becomes one ball.
  2. Press Draw, click the machine, or press Ctrl+Enter.
  3. The balls mix while the air runs, then the winning ball floats up and out of the neck of the machine.
  4. Choose Remove this entry to take that ball out before the next draw, or keep it in.
  5. Every winner is listed in the Results tab with the time.

What people draw with it

  • Raffles and door prizes at events, fundraisers and office parties
  • Bingo nights, using numbers 1 to 75 as the entries
  • Classroom draws for prizes or turns
  • Live giveaways on Twitch, with entries straight from chat
  • Choosing the order for a tournament or a draft

Numbers instead of names

For a number draw, list the numbers one per line. To draw several numbers in a row, turn on Remove the winner from the wheel automatically in Settings so no number comes out twice.

How big a draw it can handle

The machine shows up to 60 balls at once, and fewer entries means bigger balls with easier-to-read labels. Lists longer than 60 still work: the winner is picked fairly from the whole list, and that name is put on one of the balls you see. If you'd rather see every entry, the wheel spinner shows up to about 200 names.

Why it's fair

The winner is decided before the balls start mixing, using your browser's cryptographic random generator with a method that gives every entry the same chance. The tumbling is a show that ends on that winner, so ball sizes, bounces and position in the machine make no difference.

Questions

Is the lotto ball picker really random?

Yes. The winner is picked with the browser's cryptographic random generator, the same kind used for passwords, using a method that gives every entry exactly the same chance. The animation is played afterwards to land on that winner, so it never decides the result.

How many balls can I put in the machine?

Up to 60 balls are shown at once. You can add more entries than that and every one still has the same chance; the drawn name is printed on a ball as it comes out.

Can I draw several winners?

Yes. Draw again after each winner. Choose Remove this entry on the winner card, or turn on Remove the winner automatically in Settings, so the same entry can't come out twice.

Can I use it for bingo or number draws?

Yes. Type the numbers one per line, for example 1 to 75 for bingo, and turn on automatic removal so each number is called only once.

Can I use it live on Twitch?

Yes. Connect your channel in the Twitch chat tab so viewers can enter with !join, then copy the OBS overlay link. It shows the ball machine on a transparent background and draws when you or a mod type !spin.

Does the drawing make a sound?

It plays a soft air rush and ball clicks while mixing, and a short fanfare for the winner. Turn sound off in Settings.
